    You bet #1, especially if you are into the "2.3GHz 4 x 512KB L2 Cache 2MB L3 Cache Socket AM2+ 95W Quad-Core Processor".

I, however, am inclined to purchase a turbocharged 5.1 Hemi processor with dual overhead Muffler belts and extra large Blinker fluid reservoirs.

The 780G mobo is awful. I have one and while the 3d integrated graphics work well, there are a lot of bugs. When I hold down my shift key the computer freezes.

#5, I've got the gigabyte 780g, and I think it's a pretty good platform. Maybe it's the Asus?

At #8 it unfreezes when you let go. You can also turn the refresh rate really low to to avoid the problem. It's still not good though for people who type fast. I have 2 of these (didn't know it was the board that caused the problem). I don't know if it's only on the Asus which is what I have.

#5, there are many things that can cause your computer to freeze. Most of them have nothing to do with the processor, or motherboard. This is a really good deal for a decent processor, and Asus motherboard.

I have 2 of these and it's definitely the mobo. One computer has an Athlon 64, Windows XP, and an old 1900xtx. The other one has a phenom 9600, vista and a 4850. The only thing in common is the mobo. The only other thing that I can think of is that they both use PS2 keyboards. I'll have to try a USB keyboard to see if it fixes the problem. I got this board thinking that it would be a good for a HTPC (removing the dedicated card when I'm not gaming), but it's been quite a few headaches. The 2d graphics is awful. Websites lag when you're scrolling through them. The 3d graphics are nice for games like WoW but that's about it.

I would never be using a full sized ATX board in an HTPC rig (to anyone considering it that is)... and I also stick with Gigabyte for my HTPC/budget needs.
