Creative has had problems with their ear phone jacks for years and this player is no different. The sound cuts in and out so it sounds like your music is skipping. Of course Creative doesn't have customer support so sending it in under warranty gets it returned to you without being fixed.
The 4GB is on sale at Radio Shack Black Friday for $50 or the 8GB for $70. Price match at Walmart who won't give you a hassle when you return it for the ear phone jack problem.

Interesting #2, but this is not a Creative player.
