I got in on the Sony BDP-S350 for $150. Any thoughts on this unit? Thanks in advance.

Nice, just picked one up. $150 with shipping and tax (california). If it sucks it's going on ebay, otherwise great deal.

$99 blue ray is approaching!

That's when I buy and get a 1080 TV to go with it.

Decent player. $203 on Amazon. I got the Sony for $150, but the order seems screwy. They say it shipped, but my card has not been charged and the tracking number links to a fedex shipment that shipped to a totaly different part of the country in June. Wierd.

Out of curiosity, does Philips make one of their wonderful little DivX-capable players in BD format?

The Sony Blueray deal will be back by Xmas. They are trying to push for Blueray so prices will drop.

Its tough to justify paying over 100 for a player when a PS3 is only 150 bucks more (with Sony credit card offer)...

Just bought PS3 for that reason #14. BTW, I think blu ray is a joke, I watched the BR version of 300 and I didnt see what the big deal is, blu ray doesnt look that much better than a good quality DVD watched on a decent upconverter on a quality flat screen lcd or plasma. I have decided to ebay PS3. Tired of wasting my life gazing at screens. "the screenz man, they're everywhere, they take you away, look away from the screens before its to late!!! They will take everything! ahhh!!

What idiot would pay for blu-ray machine? They should make it free since since they charging $30 for new releases. These are not really for us ghetto dogs. Read #15 review and solution.

Sony's similar-priced BDP-S350 may be the better deal as it's firmware upgradeable to profile 2.0 (and the addition of a USB thumb drive). This Samsung player does not appear to support 2.0 (BD-Live). Am I wrong about this?

Parkker (the person not impressed by '300'), watch another movie. CGI movies like 300 are over-processed, gritty and washed out - try watching something like George Clooney's concert Blu-Ray and on a large 1080p screen. Also try highdefdigest.com for Blu-ray (and HD-DVD) reviews.
