I've considered this device months ago. It has all the great specs with nice long battery. However, it's not very hackable in that if you mess up you might brick this device. Also no name company with average software. It's pretty cheap. If it was lower without rebate I might gamble on one.

Holux is not as well-known as TomTom or Garmin, but they make fantastic GPS boxes. I have two tiny little Holux GPS units that talk to my laptops via Bluetooth. The units are the size of a small matchbox. Holux also makes a GPS unit the size of a pack of chewing gum (including battery).
That said, I have no idea how good these integrated boxes are, but I'd wager they can hold their own.
My GPS units are so sensitive I don't need to take them outside to get a lock on the satellites. Now THAT'S sensitive.

#3 does not know what he is talking about. This unit works well. The only time a GPS freezes is if there are too many GPS units being used at the same time. If that happens, the satellite overloads much like a server for a website and then the satellite has the potential to crash to earth. That is why buying a Holux or other lesser know brand is smarter. The TomTom and Garmin satellites will overload on Christmas day or shortly thereafter when everyone that gets one for Christmas turns their new ones on. The excessive GPS beams will cause the Garmin and TomTom satellites to crash and fall out of orbit. Holux has 3-7 satellites in orbit. Sometimes they lose their signal behind the Moon or large asteroids, but most reports that they work.
Also, certain GPS need special relay overbolts that will allow them to work on bridges or other things that use E-Z Pass tool booth payer things.
This way you could end up getting lost in tunnel or on a bridge just for using the wrong GPS.

According to the Amazon reviews, it sounds like a good deal if you're willing to hack the device and replace the mapping software.
