There seems to be issues with 1st generation esata chipsets which supported either 500gb or 750gb... this one has a 1tb support so most probably a 2nd generation esata chipset which is good... I dont have this particular enclosure so I cannot say for sure of its quality but the price is really good... I bough one for 30 ar, the thermaltake blacx

Nice price. Some of the negative reviews make me wonder if this is a newer esata chipset or not. Or maybe people who are having trouble are trying to hot plug with a system that doesn't support hot plugging SATA drives?
