Blech. This style of player is crap. Go for one of the Sansa that are popping up all the time now.

lithium removable much better than AAA

Methink #1 meant smaller, since NiMH AAA is more convenient being able to be charged in a player or a regular charger and it's so much easier to have spares handy (spare a spare Li-Ion pack is normally impossible on this size player since spares aren't sold, would cost near as much delivered as the whole player, and require soldering in before you could even charge it). So basically Li-Ion is the least convenient battery type though it's high energy density still makes it nice for certain uses.

But on this player? They should just include one alkaline, you won't want to use it anymore by the time you've gone through 1 battery.

What is the ultimate battery combo for a player? A pair of AA Eneloops. Yes that would make the player larger, so if you are a Smurf you will be too small to shove it up your ass. Otherwise, nobody has a pocket so small they couldn't fit a AA based player in it and AA would mean equal or better runtime than anything else out there, plus the ability to have a spare set of batteries with you at a cost of $4, plus after 18 months you won't have to throw the player away because it isn't cost-effective to buy a new Li-Ion even if it were removable, unless you had paid way too much for the player in the first place.

Oh, there's a bonus. if you don't try to make a player as tiny as possible, it can have buttons big enough you don't have to worry about small controls breaking or being less ergonomic to use.

The reason why an MP3 player should last longer than a Li-Ion battery is that headphones and MP3s won't have changed by the time that battery is dead, an otherwise good player won't be obsolete if designed well in the first place.

not a bad mp3 player had a couple of these a few years back and they were just fine for my listening pleasures until i upgraded to a microsoft zune. Good player for the casual listener who doesn't have a ton of music.

NOt bad from what I have heard. Nice size to, big fan of that. Tired of the bulky player that I have.
