I'm seriously considering this laptop... it has favorable reviews from what I've seen

I don't mind HP either. I have heard only good things for the most part. Not a bad price either.

HP makes sturdy laptops. Seems like a good deal for $600 with the specs listed.

If this had a dedicated video card, then I would say jump on it, but if you are not going to be doing much that require video graphics, then you will be good. Great price.

#10 I have this laptop with the dedicated 9600gt and a few other upgrades, it has performed well with pretty much everything I've thrown at it so far, looks great too IMO.

Good deal but HP Laptops can't take much abuse. I think dell and Lenova are better

for the specs, you can't beat the price. 320gb drive, 4gb ram, c2d for $600, nice!

You should be able to get this for less off of ebay with the 25% off from live.com

#14 dude this is from HP.com not ebay.

I've had terrible experience with hp lately. Maybe I just got the short end of the stick but I'll never buy hp again. Massive mb recalls on the dv2000 series and battery issues...comes back from warranty service with new things broken. Yeah, enough said.

I prefer Lenova for a cheap notebook, but HPs are def nice. Pretty good deal.

This laptop is not a core 2 duo as listed here. It is a dual core. Got taken, how's at fault?
    #19   surge1 - Posted 6:39 am PST 12/4/08 (4 Posts)
ur right #18, its not core 2 duo. perhaps HP just changed the deal. ALSO, its no longer 4GB RAM, but only 2GB. you can get the upgrade to 4 gigs for $25.

i don't think its worth it now.

#18 and 19, yesterday you had to customize the laptop as Ben said up to a C2D for $50 to bring it to that price, then there were free upgrades to 4gb ram and 320gb hdd, but those are no longer there. Still not a bad deal though.
