Yea, I keep seeing these things on Ben's Bargains, but never on any other deal sites or Gizmodo. The review seems pretty good though.

Anybody have feedback on how good these are? To date, I haven't been impressed with any Sony video/audio players.

This matches the best deal from Black Friday (also and Sony Style). I picked one up for 10 bucks more at CC and I love it. It's operation isn't as smooth as an iPod as far as flicking quickly through stuff with the wheel, but it's still really easy to use. You can load music with Windows Media Player or just by drag on drop using Explorer (or Finder on Mac for me). Overall I'm really happy with it. Haven't tried videos, but music is great and more bang for the buck than iPod, Sansa, or Zune (not that I'd touch a Microsoft product if I could avoid it.)

It is a reliable player but without the elegance of the fancy ones out on the market.

This is their older model. The new model comes with an FM tuner.
The new model is about .5" shorter same screen size, but it's a little fatter then this model and the big control button is now in the center with the other two buttons on the side. One handy feature is that it has an external volume rocker switch. I really like not having to open a menu to change the vol. I've had this one for almost a year and it's a great player. I was lucky because back then the earbuds that came with it used to retail for around $50 and they sound great. Now they ship with crap earbuds. This player has amazing volume. I use mine mostly for watching video podcasts. It's a great little video player. What's really great is the Sony Media Player that comes with it can be upgrade for only $5. When you upgrade it can convert any type of video file so it will play on the unit. This makes life a lot easier!

I was wrong about the earbubs! This model still ships with the good buds. It's the new model that has the crap one.

Is it true that this player doesn't support playlists?

It supports playlists but I think the best way to navigate is with Folders.

I have had this player for over 6 months and LOVE it. I had 2 ipod before it but the hard drive died. I was going to go Nano but this was cheaper. I had bought it for $120 a while back and even at that price it was totally worth it. At $60 on black friday, I picked up another one for my sister for xmas.
