I like the roomba, but it is typically given low marks in reviews. It is probably best for keeping things looking nice in between real vacuuming. Their newest robot, the Luuj, is awesome though.

Good price, but it is a refurb. The biggest problem seems to be the battery.

If it asks me to choose between the red or blue pill, which should I choose?

These work great! (If you're talking about annoying the cat)
Else, assuming you put any effort into it, you're better off just doing it yourself with a normal vacuum.

The Roomba I have is great, but don't bother with a refurb...

I bought a refurb from buy.com a year or two back. The unit arrived looking new. Does well transitioning from wood to carpet. The battery lasted close to a year before replacing a few months ago. Purchased the battery at CircuitCity for $41.
I did purchase a 2nd discovery from stootsi.com for $90 that arrived without any cleanup and a dead battery. They gave me a $40 credit to get a new battery. Short of the battery, works as well as my buy.com unit. They have salvage units for $29.99 at:

I was shopping for new brushes and iRobot is high on the accessories. All the resellers appear to have a set price too.

I think this price is ridiculous! I have this on my wedding registry (already married, no one bought it) at Bed, Bath & Beyond for $300. This deal seems to be good to be true!

This is a good price, but keep in mind that this is an older generation 4xx series and it is refurbished, so it only comes with a 90 day warranty.
The newer models 5xx models are much more reliable and they come with a much 1 year factory warranty.
