I want one of these bad. It's so hard to discern when to bite.

I think they are loading more with XP since the Linux ones were returned because the general public just isn't ready yet.

This size is just a little too little. Try to get to a place that has them and the 10" ones, and try the keyboards. You'll see quite soon why there are so many returns of otherwise new computers. Biggest keyboard's on the Asus 1000H line, btw.

People are more likely to return the linux versions, but the people shopping the outlet are more likely to be tech savvy enough to know what they're getting into with the linux versions, so I guess things balance out.

Seems like an excellent price.
I thought I would be in heaven with the new tiny ASUS about eight months ago before all of these competitors came out. It was great on portability but very hard on the eyes and fingers. I went with a used Vaio TX instead and am very happy with that. About the same weight but a REAL computer. It was around a thousand bucks, though.

this would be a good option for your kids, but not everyday use. Might be nice for the occasional surfing while watching tv on the couch. or if you travel and occasionally need a computer, this seems like a great option.

using 10" eee. not hard on the eyes, ok keyboard. HP has the largest buttons, the new 1000 mini. 8.9" is not hard on the eyes either. not sure about the smaller keyboard.
