Canon is a great brand. But why anybody would want point and shoot camera with 10 MP is beyond me.

    Wide angle, best little canon

this is a pretty good price. about a month ago i had to buy a camera for an upcoming vacation and decided on this one from amazon.com, for about $250. there is no optical viewfinder, but the screen is large and shows pictures beautifully. the selection controls also feature a wheel that turns, so canon has really upped the design of the latest line cameras.

I love these little canons. But why are they still shipping 32MB cards with these? That's ultilame

If this Powershot 880IS has HD video, I would have jumped for it. For now, I am going to extend my Powershot 630 until xmas 2009. By that time, the economy would have turned around, and HD video would be a common feature for these point and shoot's.

#4, including accessories like a larger SD card only causes the price to go up more than the value of the card by the time the package goes on sale. I'm glad they're only including the absolute smallest card available, letting us save our money to buy memory at current prices.

First time I've seen it under $200, but given the way the prices have dropped on these Canon P&S I'd expect them to get even cheaper before the year end.

David Pogue who writes about technology in the NY Times rated this camera numero uno.

Buy now. This is a great model for the price. Or you can wait for another month or two for prices on everything to keep falling....

The 800-series (800, 870, 880) is the best point and shoot camera Canon makes primarily because of it's wide-angle zoom (28mm equivalent). All the rest are 35-45mm at it's widest which is really not wide enough at all for group photos and landscapes. I've been waiting for this camera to drop in price, and this will do. I just ordered one. Thanks Ben!

I followed the price on the SD870is for months and I never found the price below $220-$230.....even when the new models were out. And this model is rated a bit higher than the 870IS.

I bought the G10 (love the aesthetics) to complement my SLR, but I am returning it as this offers the same functionality in a smaller package at less than half the price.

BTW, just purchased one and the 5% code 1?ZRX6HH4G2ZW3 runs till 01/08/09.

Just purchased it and can corroborate #12's finding - Dell reports the %5 code (1?ZRX6HH4G2ZW3) as expiring January 8th, 2009.

These are great, but if you have large hands it takes some getting used to. I always feel like I'm going to break the thing...

I bought one of these about a month ago for $250. This is the best point n shoot I have owned. Can't go wrong with this one.
