still a good accessory to have if you're into building computers or work with old computers that have IDE drives lying around all over the place.

I've seen one with both eSATA and IDE, and takes 2.5" & 3.5". I'll wait for that one to come down in price.

Is the vertical orientation bad for the hard drive?

i cant stand RADIO SHACK. i dont know how they are still around. there's a store every few miles around here. always empty. at least merge with worst buy or circuit shity and die already.

anyone has any experience with ebay crap "all-in-one" adapters? i don't need a dock, need more options for different sizes and interfaces.

FishDawg, from Ben's quick look link (review by The Tech Report): Drives sit vertically in the BlacX, and there's no problem running them that way. In fact, the little extra encouragement that gravity provides via this vertical orientation is probably enough to all but eliminate the potential for loose or otherwise incomplete connections between drives and the docking station.

FYI: This is the standard version while the The Tech Report review was the SE. The SE has the usb hub and shroud while the standard does not.
