Rajan, what do you mean by 2GB stick ? Is it some kind of volatile USB mem device that can act as RAM ?. Do you have any links ?
    Thanks

    3-cell battery kills the deal.

Does anyone know if the build quality is superior to MSI wind? I am using a Wind right now, and its pretty solid. The only drawback is its really awkward and stiff mouse buttons.

    And its glossy body. boo.

I've used Lenovo Thinkpad laptops at work in the past. In the business world, Lenovo by far outshines all other brands in build quality, performance, and service.

The fact that you can buy a Lenovo netbook for the same price as Acer, MSI, or ASUS is a treat. I agree that 6-Cell battery would have made the deal much sweeter, but I don't mind sacrificing RAM or HD space to get Lenovo quality. RAM and HD is so cheap and easy to upgrade. 80GB is more than enough for what you're going to do with a netbook. If it's not enough, then you should be buying a regular laptop.

This use to be a much better machine when Lenovo first introduced it. But they have since lowered the intro level machine's stats and kept the price the same, most likely due to pressure from Microsoft &/or Intel. Before this Netbook was on par as far as price & feature set with the MSI Wind, but now, not so much.

All that aside, the Lenovo S10 is a very nice machine. Great keyboard, good screen, not bad battery life, and easy upgrade path for RAM.

Thanks #2. Also checked out the 2GB memory at new egg for just $23. Here is the link:

here is one of the better reviews of the S10, they compare it to the msi wind and others.

#21, #29 has posted a link to the stick of RAM. by stick I just meant chip.

I would pay a little more for the lenovo quailty over a little higher spec machine. hows the price for another battery?

Ummm does this use an external optical drive? or could you get an internal?

Don't buy another battery for this thing just yet. There is a 6-cell version of the S10 for sale in Germany. That means that the 6-cell batteries exist -- they're just not selling them in the US market yet.

So wait for the 6-cells to come out. It will be soon...

They also charge approx $20 tax but shipping is free. The familyandfriends discount mentioned above worked for me but I had to manually type the web address (www.lenovo.com/cpp) in, if I used the link it didn't work correctly. Final price before tax was $331.55. Merry Christmas to me.

#35. USB Optical Drive. Or share an optical drive across a network.

This looks like a great deal, as well as the one #2 found. Unfortunately I jumped the gun in getting an itty-bitty computer earlier in the year before all these new models came out. I got a used Vaio TX on ebay for about $1000 and love it to death. BUT, one of these would have sufficed.
