Just gave mine to charity .. never worked for me (not positive it was the same brand). I'll pay for the energizer bunny to keep my flashlight going. Had one of the shake them up ones too, got rid of that too.

These are great for small kids since they love flashlights but tend to leave them on. You can get one of these free ARB at Menards this week.

this sounds like a good as deal but for an emergency, like an earthquake winding my flashlight would be the last thing I would think about.

I got this a few weeks ago. Winding it for a minute may keep it going for an hour, but it keeps getting dimmer, so I've had to wind sooner than an hour. Also, the rubber on it has a foul odor that stays with your hands after using it, and the push button on/off switch may be too hard for children to press on or off.

This is garbage. Make sure u dont keep it for emergencies. I bought a set of 3 in COSTCO - 2 years later it does NOT hold the charge at all - have to crank it for 2 min to get 30 sec light. I dont think in emergency u have time to play with it.

I second Mike. My crank up flashlights from two years ago can't retain any of the energy generated from the crank. The battery has a extremely short life. Therefore, I end up going on a winding frenzy and have to keep winding the crank to keep the light going.

If only someone would invent a small energy storage device, so I don't have to continually crank the handle.
