I got one of these refurbs. The first one's bump sensor didn't work and it just kept running into things. So we sent it back and they kept the battery :-/. Make sure when you send these in that you don't send in any accessories. The 2nd one works on our shag but not our big thick black rug (we think it is because it believes it's running off a cliff).

wait for it on woot, much cheaper. i bought one for $100 refurb and i believe it's cheaper these days plus mine's has never broken. the only thing is that the battery just ran out, but we've had it for over a year. the batteries will really run you though at $50 a pop. but there's something with the roomba so you need to reset it sometimes and then the battery runs fine again for a while.

Where is remote control? I couldn't find it from buy.com.

I like it. It's a convenient way to vacuum while you're away from home. It doesn't do corners great, but you can always use a handheld vacuum later. Saves lots of time.

This is the model I have and I love it! It's great coming home from work and seeing a nice clean living room floor.
