Not sure what a mini tripod will do.

probably does the same thing it does as a normal tripod... only smaller.

It will do things a regular one can't do, like wrap itself around a tree branch or pole. or even your own arm. Handy little pod, small and portable.

These are awesome! I can stick my camera anywhere and take a pic of the whole family. However, I got mine for $1 at the dollar store!

Some digital cameras don't have tripod screw mounts (original Sony DSC-T series comes to mind). Make sure you check to see if your camera has one before purchasing. If not there are snap on tripods out there as well.

For mini-tripods, I like the Ultrapod better. "Flexible" sounds good until you're actually trying to unfold the thing and get it to stay solidly positioned. And the velcro strap on the Ultrapod is handy for attachment to a railing, etc.

Costs a few bucks more, but more useful.

Don't risk your camera on cheap tripod..

Various users report that these knock-offs are not as sturdy or reliable as the orignal Gorillapods (which cost 4 or 5 times as much).

the original gorillapod could not hold my old tiny olympus 400. a cheap knockoff did not even last one day.

Agreed #8, no way I'd mount my $400 digital camera on a $7 tripod, especially from MeritLine.

agreed. might as well tape your camera to a stick.

These things scared the hell out of me in 'War of the Worlds'

(I had to bust out the line, it's been a year or so!!)

These are not as useful as the ads would make them appear.

my sister has this and it works really well for her camera. it's really neat because you can bend it to what you're trying to use it on
