Nice price and even better warranty. I don't think this is as good as their ultrasharp monitors but for the everyday user this would be way awesome.

For close to this price there are decent 22" monitors that will do 1920x1080. Still waiting for a <=$250 PVA 24"...

Nowhere near the Ultrasharps. All of these 1680x1050 (Acer, Dell, even Emprex==frys)seem pretty much the same (I own an Emprex & an Acer), Dell Ultrasharp 24" and a Samsung "Ultrasharp" 23".
The chief "problem" with these is that the image rapidly deteriorates as the viewing angle moves off axis (away from 90 deg). But they are fine for desktop work with text and moderate accuracy on images when the monitor is within about a 10 degree viewing angle.
Btw, a "bargain" in the 22" 1680 x 1050 family is about $100-120, not $174.

I'd recommend spending an extra $10 or so and getting a 1920x1080 22'' with HDMI over this.

yeah, 190 for a 1920x1080@ 22 would be pretty good.
However, how small would things look proportionally versus a 24 at that resolution?

Like others said, it's a warm deal for casual use. I have the UltraSharp 22" and the colors and response time are pretty sweet.

Good point on getting the HDMI Acer monitor over this Dell, but I still think this is a good deal. I'm waiting for a good 24" Acer or Soyo to show up in the next few weeks.

its not that bad, i just got a 22 samsung at circuit city for $179 switched from a dell 15 incher. Dell monitors are good, I had that 15 inch for almost 8 years now. i'm hoping this samsung is just as reliable too.
