I bought the 4000 and didn't like the mouse scroll wheel. It doesn't click and it's grip feels odd. I think overall the Logitech mouse is of better design and quality.

#1 the 1000 transmitter plugs into a usb. Where did you get ps/2? Also, the range stinks. The battery usage is Eh. The keyboard has an almost nice feel though.

Agree with #5. Not ergonomic, but it may be OK for the casual user. Go for the Wireless Desktop 3000 instead. (But the 3000 has its issues too.)
