Before you ask, yes, those are wires in the pic. When someone figures out how to deliver electricity wirelessly, then they will be truly wireless.

Actually we do know how to transmit electricity wirelessly. It can be done over small to moderate distances but is absurdly inefficient so it is not practical to use for consumer products.
