how the hell did u find one for 289? minimum is 349 now.

From what I've heard, ASUS says that Linux based netbooks are returned about 3x more often than the XP ones. The main reason is that people can't handle the learning curve or see something unfamiliar and send it back not understanding what they're getting into. This means that you can snap up one of these "refurbs/recertified" rather cheaply. More than likely someone just didn't know how to use it.

Ben keeps repeating the deal he got a few weeks ago.... i never find them for this cheap either.. its a ok deal if you can find one that isnt overpriced.

No, I was just able to add it to my cart. There was only one at this price in the list. Price after rebate was $231 like Ben said. Only problem, it's so stripped it's hardly worth a second look: 512MB RAM, 8GB SSD, lousy battery, no webcam... I'd rather spend a little more and get a netbook with more oomph.

tax kills it. about 15~20 for each. With that price, you can almost get an EEE on ebay.

ive got a seven year old dell c400 p3-900 w/12.1" screen. running dual xppro and kubuntu. works perfect as a throwaway traveling laptop. battery still lasts 60-90 minutes. ill get one of these teeny units when the c400 finally breaks.

I think the only way to make use of this deal is to constantly browse the refurb listing waiting for a recent return to show up before the coupon is invalid. Great if you have time and patience.

#15, I hate Windoze and don't want to pay the Windoze tax. I'd much rather get one with Ubuntu and not pay Bill Gates my hard earned money.

Ive got an older lappy (mobile p4) with 512 and it smokes running Linux Mint. (Ubuntu offshoot) I would love to have one of these mini units.

#14, this is better than an EEE, why would u get something on ebay as opposed to dell where its trusted and comes with a warranty?
