This was $15 dollars before, but even at $17 it's a great buy after Rockbox. Ben also left off the key feature of being able to support SDHC (after rockbox).

I've got the Mseries Sansa players and like them for the aaa battery power. Does anyone make a AAA powered player with sd card reader?

These are easier to use than ipods, just drag and drop items.

I purchased this since the description mentioned it was powered by AAA battery, i received it an it uses a rechargeable battery. Also the unit freezes alot (i have to remove the battery to reset it) Buy.com wont take it back, this is the third time i had an issue with them.

The headphone jack isn't reinforced very well on the c200 series. The refurb c250 I got lasted for about a day before the solder on the headphone jack broke.

I bought this, and it's pretty cool with Rockbox. But in the end, sound quality wasn't quite as good as my home made player, so this thing is going to sit on my shelf instead of being used.

#2, I too wished it would use AAA batteries so you don't have to kept the player tethered to recharge. I have a cheap Fry's Emprex MP3 player that takes full size SD (yay) and runs off a single AAA battery. However, it only supports MP3's (no WAVs or FLACs) and you can hear some faint disk access noises while in really quiet portions of songs and when switching between songs. That killed it for me. Not sure if it supports SDHC, didn't really matter since it didn't have an LCD for navigating many songs anyway. My home made player runs off of two AAA batteries right now (only plays raw WAV audio right now).

#5: So whip out your soldering iron and fix it. Whoopdeedoo!

i have c250 and e270. had m240, 250. all refurbished. no problems with headphone jacks. prefer slim replaceable battery. rockbox adds some fun apps, games. FM, good recording quality. i bought this one with gco for 15 when it was 25 refurb. ok deal if rockboxable.

Should mention that the unit I got's battery life is only about 9 hours or so. Well under the spechs. Of course this is YMMV. I could have an old battery since it is a refurb.

My biggest complaint is the earphone jack. These are notorious for being badly soldered, and having one headphone jack suddenly stop working. It has not happened on mine, but I'm waiting.

Another headphone jack wimp... On something this cheap ($17? ppbbbt, practically toilet paper), who cares if you scuff it up a little to open it up and do a little soldering iron re-work.

Stay away from this POS. I bought one of these last year and it never worked properly. As soon I as traversed the menu and selcted to play music the thing would lock up. now it sits in my night stand and reminds me on a regular basis why i will never buy from buy.com again. look at the reviews for this thing on other sites..bacons a joke.
