Um, what "Cannon" questions? I've got a Pixma iP4000 and it doesn't interrogate me when I change cartridges. Been using generics with no problem.

I get a 18-pack (with shipping) way less than $30 on Ebay.
Check out 14-pack!

Used IP3000 and IP4000 still fetch for $50-60 on eBay.
Although the Generic Color Ink is Fine for what I do. The Black tends to get overly saturated like most generic black ink.

I have bought some generic inks twice now. I know once from here, but I don't remember which time. The first set of inks were great! The last set i got were mostly ok except for the Yellow... it turned brown (the whole tank did) within a month.

I will never use generic ink again. There is a reason it's so cheap. In the dozen printers my company used generic ink in, all needed service after a couple months of use. We did a side by side comparison using the same photo paper and a set of genuine ink, and a set of generic ink. The photo printed by the genuine ink was much more vibrant, sharp, and clearer than the generic brand. The thing is, we wouldn't have really noticed it unless we did the comparison. Also, the generic ink discolored and started to fade after just a month.
There is truth in the saying you get what you pay for.

If you care about the photo you're printing, generic color is probably not a great idea when the local walgreens or whatever will do it so cheap. But for just black and white text printing, generics are a life saver. Ordered from inkgrabber twice w/ no prob.

Doesn't Walgreen also give you Generic Color Ink for their refill?
Maybe their Ink is higher quality than that of the G&G brand I get for my IP3000. I've been using G&G(the one that comes in the Yellow and Blue packaging for over 4 years and not a problem.
