This is what I want. Love the D60 and its size.

sounds like a great camera

good camera but not so great price. Been waiting for better price for either D60 or D40

#3, the price is the lowest it has ever been listed on Ben's (see the history link). so, that just means the price is "not so great" for you, not those that can currently afford it.

I rather get the Cannon with both 18-55 and 75-300 lenses for 500.00 yes it is a 10 megapixel camera as well.

I dub today digital camera day, since this is now like the 7th camera deal to be posted.

I've been looking for a DSLR, but at a SUPER steal.. I mean deal. Looks like I'll keep waiting.

Ben has been great, I RSS it and reads it thru out the day. But it does not mean his list of price is always the lowest for EVERY item.

#7 is correct. Wolf and Ritz currently have the best price for D40 and D60 kit (with 55mm-200mm lens)for $499 and $599 respectively. Since I'm not in hurry so I will wait a little longer.

I bought a kit from Ritz in August - 18-55 vr and 55-200 vr. I'm happy with it although I wonder whether Canon XSi is better.

18mm-55mm is good enough for regular uses. Go for the combo with IS telephoto len if you are taking lots of outdoor photos.

D40's with kit lens have been available recently at or less than $420. This is the better deal.

#15, where did you find the deal?

D40 is a great DLSR for the price. Some complain that it's only 6.1 megapixels but unless you're printing poster size pictures, that's irrelevent. Buy the D40 cheap and spend your money on big honkin' lenses.

What a piece-of-crap. If you feel you have to buy an ultra-crippled Nikon, skip the D60 and its predecessor (and virtual equivalent) D40x, and go for the D40 when youc an find it for $300 (or under $400 with lens).

#16 I found this place on the internet called "Amazon.com". You should check them out. They have so much stuff there. The D40 is $409 and change.
