North Face tailors to short people so no fit on top of ugly.

Actually, #3, Gore-Tex is not at the top of the heap, anymore. It's still a great fiber, but there are other materials that outperform it for weight and breathability, while retaining waterproof qualities.

I just tried this jacket at the store, and it is much more comfortable than most soft shells, plus the fabric is a lot smoother and really is more quiet. Still, Mountain Hardware has my vote for fit and comfort for the money.

For $160 I could buy a ton of hand warmers and duct tape them together.
