#1 sounds like the type that takes out a huge interest only mortgage and thinks they can "afford" it. lol

Other than the fact that the iPhone is, obviously, a cellular telephone, does the Touch do everything else that the iPHone does?
I'd like an iPhone (for corporate push email, iPod, internet, pictures, GPS, etc.), but I don't want to switch to AT&T for my cell phone service. Does this do all that stuff?
Thanks for any insight.

#4, i believe the Touch will do nearly all the same. it doesn't have a microphone (but i've been told headphones with a mic will work) for voip calls. for push email, you would be limited to wifi (obviously).

for this price put at least 3mp camera in it and make battery user replaceable and i'll think about it.

apple was selling refurb 4gb iphones last week for $149.99, i missed it, so did a lot of people. you were luck #1. they were the first gen iphones, so you were on your honor to sign up for an att contract. i'm betting maybe 3 people did.

Thanks, #5. You'd think it would be obvious that the push email was limited to WiFi, but that hadn't occurred to me. Glad I asked, as that won't suffice. I guess I'll try to get an iPhone with the least expensive calling plan, as I won't really use it.

#8, I think GPS is also out of the question for the touch, but you ruled out getting this device.
If you don't want to pay for the att service, I'd recommend getting the original 8gb iphone from ebay or something for about 300. You can crack it using the pwnage software, using the cheaper t-mobile service (the only other US carrier that accepts sim cards).

Thanks #9, but I need to use Sprint for phone. It's the only one that works at my house, we have two phones with 23 months left on a two year contract (and we have a great, inexpensive flexible plan that you can't get anymore). So, I'm sticking with Sprint for my cell phone.
But I guess I will just carry an iPhone like many carry (and I used to carry) a separate Blackberry - it's just that it will be a really nice, multi purpose Blackberry.

#5, this is a 1st gen iPod touch. It doesn't have the audio input you find on the 2G.

Is this really a refurb or is it brand new? Did Ben just copy and paste his old descriptions? I can't find anything saying that this is a refurbished item on the BestBuy website.

#1 you pay $150.00 + 2 year contract could cost you about two thousand in 2 years. I own 4 cell phone, pay only 7 bucks a month PrePay ones, just for family use. it cheaper to go that rout. and if I need to make long distant calls. I use magicjack call anyone US and Canada FREE.

About this 1st Generation iTouch 16gb. I prefer the 2nd gen. it got audio with speaker. you can hear the game play and watch a movie with-out using headphone, They trying to get rid of the 1st Gen buy reducing the price, But I got the 2nd gen. They made me a offer, I could not refuse. 150+ a FREE Shuffle. You can send and recived emails anywhere in the world. all you need is Hi/Fi signal. Surf the net, play games and watch movies. I down load 4 movies 90 minutes each. and put 1000 pictures and 5 games on this iTouch 2nd gen 8gb, and still have a little over 4Gb left. 16gb or 32gb is overkill. I figur if I lost it, I wont feel that bad. Paid only 150.00
The difference between the iPhone and iTouch is the Phone and GPS. Target is selling a iTouch 2nd gen with 32gb for 399.99+ FREE Shuffle, worth 50 bucks. this week only ends Jan 3. 2009
click on this link. look on this weekly ads. on the 2nd pages.

I picked one because I didn't think having a 2nd gen was worth the additional $80.
