I never understood a remote for a car stereo...anybody? I have one in the boat for when you are lounging on the back end and don't want to go all the way up front to turn the volume down on "Killing In The Name Of" (when the old farts in the pontoon park next to you), but in a car?

having every control instantly memorized and available with a flick of your thumb versus having to take your eyes off the road and reach over to press a button. since i'm 6'4" and my seat is at its maximum extension i'd rather keep leaning on my armrest instead of shifting my whole body.

you should really take a hard look in the mirror and come to terms with the fact you're nothing but a poser if you turn down RATM just because of some old people who trip on your set

I was under the impression that MOSFET amplifiers sucked real bad. Have they improved in the last 8 years?

DVP, you always cut through the sh*t, don't you? Smile
I'm a big boy myself (in fact my LITTLE brother is 6'4") and I'm hip to your lounge angle...I was Deetroit leanin' before it was coined in song. However, the last 3 vehicles I've owned have had steering wheel-mounted radio controls, so I guess this is what caused my momentary brain-fart regarding the necessity of a ghetto remote which can be easily lost between the seats, sat upon, etc...
BTW, not a poser, but the lake association president who has been told a myriad of times to begin "setting a better example" (there were exhaust issues with the Donzi, along with a host of other things, ummmm, unbecoming an elected official) ...thanks

#2, being courteous is not posing. i always wondered about a remote for a car also; thought it was for use from the backseat to put on mood music

This reminds me of the car stereo I bought 12 years ago.

The remotes for my last two Kenwoods work very well and definitely are safer to use during driving than than touching the radio. I'm another 6'4" guy who has his seat all the way back.

#9, where do you keep the remote in the car so it is within reach?

With a remote you could always flip the bird to the next car and keep changing stations.

the remote is for the fatties that can't get their t-rex arms to reach the actual faceplate controls.

JVC isn't exactly known for it's quality, but if all you want is a basic unit then go for it. =)
