If local companies with poor QC departments want to compete with established manufacturers then they have to price their stuff accordingly. This is more than what an average Sony blu-ray player costs.
This is'nt any deal, this is off-shelf price.

This is one of the reasons I hate bestbuy- slick markups, targeted at the novice customer.

Take these for instance. $499 for ram that otherwise sells for 20 bucks ? The first link is AVERAGE ram 1066 at 5-15, 2.2 volts WTF??... the first link was $299 last month, now it's shot up to $499.. I wonder of they have a random number generator that drives these prices.

Do your homework before you buy and you'll find your wallet a lot heavier. Or leave your wallet at home before you go to bestbuy.

The Samsung BD-P1500 is $199 at Fry's.
The Sony 350S(?) was $199 the week before Christmas.

Just wait and spend your money on a decent brand, or wait for this to fall the $75 and take a chance.

I would wait for a better player. without a network connection, you are screwed on any firmware updates

#1 - I agree with you. So I check bestbuy only at clearance sections with free shipping option . I also know someone who buy Bestbuy returned inventory in pallets and they sell the return items very cheap.....
#2 - you missed a lot of deals - Check here :

#5 is exactly right...of course, had I realized that the Sony S350 was such a good deal, I should have bought more than one! (Today's Circuit City circular has them "on sale" for $299.99...)

I saw this today at WorstBuy and the remote 'looks' like a Samsung remote. Can anybody verify this is in fact made by Samsung.

#9, avoid it even if it is as it would have Insignia branded firmware which may mean no updates and rejection of Samsung branded firmware.

Also, Consumerist had an article that BB was scamming people with this player trying to charge $30 for a firmware upgrade that doesn't exist for this device.
