This is more about what these are worth.

    No 1080p, so no deal.

Price is getting down to where it should be but the specs on model are a bit low. 512MB of RAM and 4GB HD make it not a good buy.

Specs are low? C'mon, it's for web browsing and email. That's it. Basically a PDA with a keyboard.

Perfect for a car computer with a 9" VGA USB touch screen, USB GPS and a USB powered DVD drive and have movies and MP3s.

PDA with keyboard? Does it too bulky to be consider as PDA? I agree it may be a very cost effective email machine but not as PDA

If you check out some reviews of these things you'll see that they are very sluggish with less than 1GB of RAM, even for web browsing and email. If you buy this unit get yourself some more RAM for it as I'm pretty sure this model has a user accessible memory slot.

SSD drive is the killer...can upgrade it to 2gigs for peanuts after rebate.

You can easily flip this to an ebaytard for $50 more if you don't like it.

For this price, has a webcam, now just put in 2gig memory and you have a useful machine.

Does Asus' express gate work on their Eee PC's for even faster booting?

I was contemplating which is the better deal:
14 of these OR 1 of the new $2800 MacBook Pros.
    Hmmm...

#12, that's like comparing a Ferrari with a 10 year old Moped. Granted the Moped gets better mileage, and for a 16 year olds first vehicle, and with only a piggy bank full of quarters, that may be a compelling reason to forgo the Ferrari, but at the end of the day, everything else about that comparison is ridiculous.

14 of these is certainly the better deal unless you must run with a herd.

#12 You with a new MacLap won't make a difference. Giving 13 of these away to children without access might.

#15 - I was thinking the same thing. At this price, this is very competitive to the One Laptop Per Child thingy. Maybe instead of a Wii, I'll give my favorite kid one of these machines.

Unless your eyes are as good as and your fingers small as a 6 year old, this isn't for you.

I dunno...14 of these would make a nice beowulf cluster.

for a current generation netbook, these specs are low. but then again, this is a previous generation netbook. the worst aspect is the screen: 800x480. most web pages are design for at least 1024 and side-to-side scrolling to read the full width of a web page or article gets tiring quick.
