Hmmmm. Buy.com or 6ave.com...shotgun in mouth or jump off bridge. Tough choice.

Buy.com is actually good at their service. Check JR.com, they are better and price match.

    What? You must be kidding.

He is kidding. Their service is stinky. I have never been screwed by them but they seem slow to update order status and slow to ship.

yep, same to me:578$ Camcorder is great, but you need firewire cord to connect it to your PC, i don't have this port on my laptop(DV4), plus to edit, capture and use it you will need a good software: Sony vEgas, or Adobe premera or may be ULEad. So it is costly.

I wish I'd waited to buy this...I bought a lower model a few months ago and paid much more for it.

#6, you can use any of dozens of editing programs to work with HDV, which this camera puts out, and most any laptop can easily handle the load. It's the AVCHD cameras that are a PITA.

You can get a Firewire plug-in card for your laptop for maybe $30 and a cable for $15. Go for it.

This is a very good camera, and camcorderinfo.com loves it. Me, I'm a Sony guy, and the general consensus is that the Sony cameras are built much more robustly. But for image quality, this cam is great; just don't drop it too many times.

I would buy from buy.com but not 6ave.
