There are no 2.5" 1TB drives on the general market. This is a decent (not great, but decent) price for a 500 GB 2.5" drive.

I think that one day we will get to 1TB 2.5"

if your requirement is just "one day", then you might as well dream bigger than a 1TB portable hard drive...lol.

Seriously, I think one day we will reach... whatever 1000TB is... on a Sandisk Micro Cruzer

Recently picked up a Seagate FreeAgent Go 500GB with dock from Best Buy for $115, would jump at another one. Also looking for a cheaper 320GB or so drive, in the $70 range.

I agree with #1. I have seen better prices for 2.5 drives. Also, it has been reported that these things draw more power than the USB spec guarantees. Of the specs I have looked at, I have yet to see one which includes the startup current. It would seem these vendors are now concealing things like that, rotational speed and all the rest.

I bought a smaller capacity version of this drive about 2 years ago for a little over $100. It's worked great. This isn't a bad deal for the capacity considering how drive capacities have increased.
