I just bought http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.3609 a couple weeks ago - it kicks ASS. Super bright, will probably give em out for Christmas.

I've used those multi-led ones and don't like em. One brighter LED is way better than 9 weak-ass ones.

Just picked up a couple of identical ones at Advance Auto parts for $2.50 each w/batteries. All aluminum, 9 very bright LEDs. Includes 3 AAA batteries.

These are good for your car glove compartment at $2-3 each. That one is pretty cool, #5, much better to run off 1xAA instead of 3xAAA

I bought 4 of these...all four broke, if you ask they initially work great but are built so poorly that even though I had one working immediately and hadn't touched it for half a year (the batteries also mysteriously discharged) it still manage to just die

This particlar flashlight was given away free with a pair of socks from Haband a while back. Lots of us bargaineers got one. It's the crappiest flashlight I own, worth about $3 and blows out the LEDs one at a time because it has no current limiting. IF you buy one I suggest using alkaline batteries so they at least limit current a little more than with NiMH, and yet their higher initial voltage will similarly cause the problem. Really what they need is to be modified, adding a few ohms resistor into the head... it wouldn't make sense to pay more for a regulator circuit for such a cheap light.

      http://www.dealextreme.com FTW!

Want a small, superbright flashlight? Try this:
      http://www.kaidomain.com/WEBUI/ProductDetail.aspx?TranID=4499

It will only last about 25 minutes on a rechargeable AAA, but while it does, it will kick out around 100 lumens, which is probably 2x as bright as the some of the best last-gen lights.

#10 linked a nice light for the price, here's another one though it's pretty popular, you might need order a month or two before you actually need it as they seem to have a waiting list even though it appears as though it's in-stock.
