Amazon with Deal Heroes has the SSC-P7 900 Lumens LED Bike Headlight for $48 with free shipping. Features waterproof design, aluminum housing, three output modes, and includes 8.4v 4400mAh battery and charger.
In case anyone else is wondering exactly how much light 900 lumens really is, my office light is a compact fluorescent (CFL) bulb, equivalent to a 60W bulb, and it puts out 825 lumens.
this looks like the MagicShine, which is a good and cheap bike light. A good deal.
you can get 8 of these for the price of one niterider, at this price. But id still rather get a niterider, since mine has been going strong for almost 7 years and niterider continues to fix mine for nothing. customer service is everything.
if you are a cheap bastard, then get one of these things for 49.
I wouldn't say someone is a cheap bastard, the majority of bike lights aren't as bright as this even if it is a bit overrated... this and the similar lights with Cree XM-L LED (@ Dealextreme, etc) are about the only kits you can get for $50 that are bright enough to see well enough in the dark to ride in unfamiliar areas.
you are right. i meant that tongue-in-cheek. This looks like a good deal. For me its a toss up. Im willing to pay more for the big name brand. but wow, imagine six of these on your handlebars instead of a single niterider.
it looks like the same item as dealextreme. theres also a guy "geomangear" or something close to that out of Tucson AZ who provides US based sales and good customer service.
^ Dealextreme carries both, some with SSC-P7 LED and some with brighter and/or more efficient Cree XM-L, but same housing (sometimes different color anodization and with or without the tactical crown on the front) and battery pack.
(and more/others if you search for water resistant bike light on their site)
I think six of them would be drastic overkill, the weight and bulk including battery packs would start to add up and you'd annoy fellow riders by night blinding them too much. One on the handlebars and one on the helmet seems good enough for most off road purposes, or just one for on road.

Hard to compare a CFL lamp w/ an LED spotlight. These are often overrated.
And less $$ on ebay too.
Sure would be nice if Amazon had comsumer reviews for this product.
