this unit is also on sale next week for the same price. reviews are good. saw this unit today before the bloody snowstorm hit today they had a 5-piece speaker system hooked up to it, couldn't tell if the sound was good.. picture looked just ok to me compared to others. there is 10% bb coupon floating around, using it would drop price to $630.

insignia tube tv's are good, no idea on the lcd's units.

this tv has 6000:1 contrast ratio, 3-hdmi, no dvi or usb port, 60hz and weighs 51 pounds.

compared to---

samsung LN40A550 which costs more, has 30:000 to 1 contrast ratio, 3-hdmi, usb port, no dvi port, 60hz and weighs 61 pounds.

my friend who works at best buy said they get a high percentage of returns on insignia lcd tv's. this doesn't necessarily mean that they are worse but it is a reasonable indication. it could also mean people who buy these are incompetent.

What's up with the really low contrast ratios on these LCD deals lately? I'd rather get a plasma but don't want another space heater...

wal-mart has the vizio 42 inch for a little more. Both brands constantly are going back to manufacturer for repair.
