The spec on this doesn't seem too great comparing to the HP tablet deal.

can anybody comment on the processor? its a 1.06GHz ULV, right? I have a five year old dell inspiron 8600 with a 2.1 GHz Mobile processor that still works fine and is still plenty fast enough. Would this Latitude be faster?

Don't bother with the solo processor. I got one of these a few months ago with the fastest chip... a Core 2 Duo ULV 1.33ghz. It's speed is sufficient, but just barely on Vista. It still feels a little sluggish at times and maxes out more often than I'd like. The solo I would imagine would be terribly slow.

The hinge on this model is weak. People have broken hinges when accidentally dropping the tablet. Not huge drops either, drops that don't affect most other portables.

So, slow processor, slow video, slow OS and slow hard drive. Other than that, I would think it's pretty fast.

I have one of this by Motion Computing and I love it... It only has Win XP on it but I only use it for web browsing and occasional writing so it does the job for me.
