The video also shows half the crap flying back into the gutter or on to the roof

Was on sale for $45 shipped from WOOT. With 150 feet of gutters two stories off the ground it is much easier, safer, faster to climb the ladder, put it in, and let it go.
Just like any product, not everyone needs it. If you have a one story 1000 square foot rancher that you can reach the 50 feet of gutters if you stretch, safe your money.
If you currently pay to have your gutters cleaned this is a nice option.

For the time it takes to go back and forth, while still being up on a ladder, just do it yourself.
This may be useful in some niche places, but not many.

Yeah, I have one. It's not a time saver and it does take a bit of getting used to, but once you've got the hang of it you can clean your gutters while sitting in a lawn chair.
Crap only flies up on your roof if you spin it in the wrong direction. You certainly can't "put it in and let it go." It requires a bit more active control.

Your husband is forcing you to clean the gutters again, nuisance? *smirk* |
That is one improbable explanation for me having rooted you out of your home. *smirk*

Just remove gutters and catch the water at ground level.

the cheapest and easiest option is to buy those gutter covers from lowe's or home depot and install them on the gutters yourself. You up the roof, snap each cover piece in place and you're done. Aside from a ladder, the only other tool you need is a pair of heavy duty scissors to cut the last plastic piece of gutter cover. =)

Since you already have to be on the ladder or roof and reach into the gutter to place and retrieve the robot, I don't see much sense in this unit.
