I love my 750GB My Book. (Though I pulled the Firewire cable from a Mac before "ejecting" it and now that doesn't seem to work, but I'm sure there's a way to fix it that I just don't know about.)

The seagate listed above is a much better product and lower price. Pass this up for the seagate.

Crappy WD warranty is enough reason to go with the Seagate. There's a reason why WD only gives a one-year warranty.

Actaully, #2, the 1TB and 1.5TB Seagate FreeAgent drives kind of have a bad reputation for fail. Also, Seagate has shortened their drive warranties going forward as well...still to 3 years, but still...

My 500 GB My Book just died, 1.5 months out of warranty (my second HD to ever die, the first being my IBM DeathStar -- which lasted 3 or 4 years).
I picked up the 1 TB Seagate. Even if it's "doomed" -- to be honest I think WD is as well, and at least Seagate's 1 TB comes with a 5 year warranty.
And it's $20 cheaper.
