Free Credit Score from MyFICOMyFICO is giving a free peek at your credit score for the first 10,000 people to register. FICO scores have a range of 300 to 850, higher is better. Requesting to view your FICO score does not hurt your score.

It's not too difficult to get a general range for where your FICO is:
    http://www.bankrate.com/brm/fico/calc.asp

Otherwise, you'd use one of the three free annual credit reports to check for fraudulent/inaccurate activity.

Your score will only be hurt by hard inquiries such as applying for mortgage, car loan, or store credit cards. When you do that it's also a good idea to do them all around the same time so it won't hurt your score that much, they will count those multiple inquiries as a single inquiry. Personal inquiries won't affect your score or inquiries from potential employers.

There are plenty of places that are "free" but require you to explicitly opt-out of their paid subscription services.

If you forget to cancel the paid subscription you can call and bitch. they will usually refund your money

#5 Is the FICA the same as the FICO except for women's credit scores?

Get a Washington Mutual credit card and it will display your FICO score for free all the time and you can even set email alerts if your score changes +/-20 points or something.

My credit score is actually higher than heidelbergensis' SAT score (which he took a month ago).

if you are more interested in obtaining a free credit report not your score you are able to pull a report from each bureau once every 12 months at annualcreditreport.com - They are the only service actually authorized by experian, transunion, and equifax for this purpose.
