Ug, its getting hard to hold out for the next generation when the prices are getting so low. If these things just had enough power for 720p video and could easily run HD DirectTV2PC then I'd order in a heartbeat...

Pretty cheap, but pretty crappy. For not that much more you can get a model with a real usable hard drive, a webcam, bluetooth and a 6-cell battery. These are just too stripped-down to be useful (8GB SSD? puh-leeeese)

What wrong with 8GB? I have one, works great, my other laptop has a 60GB and I have maybe 4GB of it used, so that 56GB of wasted space I don't use. I pull everything off my network and all my computers use very little drive space. Just OS and a few programs. So until they have a single drive 10TB setup its pointless for me.

It's true. This isn't meant to be one's primary pc, and with that in mind having the 8gb SSD is preferable to having a 160gb conventional drive eating up precious battery life.

Depends on your use for it, #5. If you travel a lot, such as using it for business trips, most likely the SSD is a better option. If it's multi-purpose and you aren't regularly away from a power source for extended periods, the platter drive is probably better.

Haven't read any reviews on these Dell minis yet to know if this is really a good deal or not though.

This is pretty tempting for a travel notebook. But has anyone used one for a media controller? I'm not talking about outputting video/audio so much as acting as an interface for an integrated system.

Wow Thanks Ben, I was looking for dell mini deal! Smile
Now I can throw out my old averatec laptop which stand no longer than 20min w/o AC.
With this coupon I got 16gb ssd w/ 1gb for $285.25!
(NY tax applied)

It's bit sad that dell don't have red color in refurb stock.
Now dell carry some of black, white and pink model.

Ok, tried again and the coupon worked. So the moral of the story is if it does not work, try again. Dell's website must be getting hammered, damn order page kept crashing.

I managed to get in on this. So far so good. Been great for what I bought it for. Checking email and surfing free WiFi spots.
