Which is better, Canon or Nikon? Thanks in advance!

Why do you want a D90 #1? Will you really be using it that much for video? If it's the megapixel jump it is not worth it. When printing out the pictures you cannot see the difference between 10.2 or 11 Might as well stick with the D80 or D60. Don't waste the money on the D90. Use it to get a nice lens.

    Here comes the debate.....

I'd answer you seriously, #3, if you weren't who you are.

For anyone seriously wondering, check out review sites CameraLabs, DPReview and Bob Atkins

Why buy a DSLR when you can get a smaller point & shoot for less Smile

    Why don't I want:
    - D80? - Matrix exposure is still overexposed, color rendition for vivid is more red and yellow
    - D60? - I owned a D40 and this will be a step backwards. No autofocus with AF lenses just like D40, color rendition is similar to D80
    - Point and shoot? - Because I want to tweak some settings when I want to take picture.

    Why do I want D90?
I don't really want it, but that is the cheapest 2nd gen Nikon DSLR. Better color rendition, autofocus with AF lenses (cheaper), and allowance for easy tweaking if needed.
    Why do I want those?
Well, so I can take picture without being frustrated at things that come out not to my heart's content.

    There goes.

Now, back to #1, where are the D90 deals....????

Oh, when I meant that D90 has better color rendition, I mean it really brings out the blue in things. The saturation setting allows for more red+blue rather than red+yellow. That's according to my eyes anyway.

    #3 - I would say this:

Canon - better in sharpness, cheaper gear, uncomfortable and a bit clunky in handling

Nikon - less sharp, but good nonetheless; gear is more expensive but there are older lenses (AF) which are cheaper than the new ones (AF-S), not affecting picture quality, just focus speed; more comfy to grip; and intuitive controls

The last two in Nikon saved my life coz I missed 2-3 potentially good shots back in the film days when I used Canon. Therefore, I switched to Nikon.

Abes of Maine is great, as long as you don't mind them sending you something kind of close to what you ordered, and calling you first to try to get you to buy something else too. Other than that, great!
