    they are closing accounts that dont keep a running balance.

    Citi extinguished my card because I don't carry a balance and wouldn't agree to ridiculous new terms (like 3% fee on all foreign transactions). So now when it expires in late 2009 I can't renew it. Great way to treat good customers who know how to manage their finances. It's not like they don't still get a nice cut from the merchants every time I use my card.
