I ordered this model from Amazon.com Thanksgiving evening, probably the best $997 I've ever spent. The picture is beautiful, whites seem white to me. Maybe I'm white blind??

lol. Where did you hear that drivel? They have "deeper blacks" because you don't have to shine a light through the entire panel to see the picture.

As for the "won't display white" comment, that's just plain wrong.

I find plasmas to be much easier on the eyes as well. Watching tv on an LCD can give me headaches because the light is so harsh and the image just isn't natural.

I personally only own a projector though. The prices have always been so much cheaper for what you really get, but with deals like this one, it looks like that won't last long, especially when you compare at 1080p.

#22, One only has to look at TVs on display to see that plasma sets are not capable of producing white. If you look only at a plasma set it will appear white. However, if you look at it side by side with an LCD, you will see it is a dirty white or a light grey.

point taken but i must say even in a dark room, my ultrasharp lcd monitors shine (30"). is there a trustable site that reviews lcd/plasmas i can have faith in?
