It's probably bottlenecked by USB.

I have this and I like it. No complaints from me. It's a portable drive that powers off of USB.. 5200RPM is standard.

I've got a couple laptops that accommodate 12.5mm drives just fine, thanks. Of course, they all require BIOS overlay software to recognize anything beyond 528MB, but hey, I'm not complaining!
