Read the reviews on the Newegg Transcend 8GB product. It sometimes functions slower than a Class 6 or seems to have other problems, see

I have had nothing but good results from transcend.. And according to the reviews so have the majority of users.

you are also reading reviews of people who think it should format to 8gb and show 8gb free..

I'm ignoring the people who are technically illiterate. Even some of the users who gave the card good marks thought it was slow compared to other cards.

I got two of these from previous $13 and $15 deals.

works so far. but then again I don't really "benchmark" or stress test these.

I copy my NDS games to it and have one in my phone.

it works. I wouln't say it's the fastest as it is about the same speeed as my other brand cards. but for the money it's pretty good deal.

I benched marked this card with the Kingston class 4 that is usually a few dollars more. Copying 8gb of mp3s took about 20mins with this card, and about an hour with the kingston using the same reader.

for the phone use, we shouldn't care too much about the speed. If it is for the camera, it would matter.

#5 good info. Thanks. I want a couple of these for phone use myself. And like #6 said, who cares unless it's for a camera.

this would also probably work nice on a cell phone.
