there is actually a debate about GPS system. It applies to LCD monitor as well. "GPS" & "LCD" refer to a technology. a "GPS System" would refer to a system that utilizes GPS technology.
That all being said this is a horrible GPS with several memory issues.

My folks have a lower model in the Navigon line, and it's not too bad. It used to be better then Garmin & tom-tom for in one respect, '3d or eye level' maps. I used it once and that feature was quite nice. However now that Garmin as caught up it's not a big of a deal.
