This would be good for a small business off-site backup. If all your server data will fit on a 1TB drive, it would be cheaper to buy several SATA drives, than to buy a tape drive & a stack of tapes.
400GB LTO tapes cost more than a 500GB drive.

Why, you ask? Well - when I reinstall a system, I always use a new hard drive. Once the new drive is up and running, I have to hook up the old drive, pull whatever I need, then wipe the drive, and remove it. With these external docks, I don't have to do a shutdown, open case, install old drive, reboot, work, shutdown, remove old drive, close case, reboot cycle. Just hook up the old drive in this, access it, wipe it, remove.
Also, when my laptop failed spectacularly, I was able to pull data off the drive onto another system through one of these docks at a time when I didn't have another hard drive to put the drive in.

#3 The problems with LTO tapes is that LTO tapes are lighter and more transportable (can survive falls.)
