How come one dozen, on fucking Valentines, cost twice as much?

That and free enterprise. What the market is willing to bare.
I would just go to Costco and pick up their dozen large roses for $13... No shipping....

How comes two dozens online costs as twice more as in local shops?
I bought 2 dozen yesterday for $9.99 each in my local Whole Food (which is not the cheapest shop) and I was able to select each rose. Here I should pay $43 hoping they will send fresh flowers and UPD/FEDEX/USPS won't screw them during the shipping.

Roses are so generic for Valentine's or any occasion now. If you're getting someone flowers, you get their favorites, or something less typical! (Like gerbera daisies or tulips!)
