    As it is currently, you can get the ps3 for $400 - $100 instant credit - 2nd $100 credit if $1500 spent in 3 months - 3rd $100 credit if another $1500 spent over next 3 months = $100

    Is that right?
    #6   mmbalto - Posted 6:14 am PDT 03/12/09 (22 Posts)
Yeah, it looks like if you get the card and just buy a PS3 with it, you get $100 back. If you then spend $1500 within the first three months, you get another $100 back and if you spend $3000 within the first six months, you get yet another $100 back.

That link by #7 looks like you do get a $200 credit on the purchase, without all that "first 3 and 6 month" spending crap. Is that right?
    #9   rijhsing - Posted 6:31 am PDT 03/12/09 (111 Posts)
Yup, just as Ben intended by his original post. Now, if you want to get the ps3 for $100, you can use his incorrect link for a $100 instant credit, then you have to spend $3k in 6 months to get 2 more $100 credits...

You don't have to buy a PS3, you can buy anything that's over $349 at any store and still get the credit. They're just giving out $200.

hmmm... i have to pay tuition in 6 months, doesnt seem like it'll be too hard to spend all that money unless of course my credit line is only 50 bucks or something.

    Sony is lame!!!

ALSO PS3 sucks!!! You'll be much better off with a XBOX 360.

    You suck SONY!

Is the 80GB one backwards compatible?

    #14

I think the 60 is, not the 80. Anyway, for $200 + tax I picked up a PS3. Why not?

#14, you mean compatible with PS2 games? If so, no, not compatible.

I thought (to an extent...with certain games...when the stars are aptly aligned) the 80 gb PS3 is purportedly backwards compatible with PS2 games. ?!?! On Sony's website, there's a search engine that you can enter PS2 games into to determine compatibility. By the way, I agree with #15. I love my 360, but I've been dying to play the Resustance franchise and MGS4.

#14 the early models were these are not. It takes a long time to get the credit back and then you have to jump through there hoops. you have to pay full price for it eventually unless you pay them interest.

Refurb PS3's are going for $350+ on a certain auction website. Might as well flip it and make a few $$$s.

    Very good deal!
