Buyer beware, it has slow transfer speeds over the network. It says gigabyte speeds but I could only acheive 16-17 MBps.And yes I have a gigabyte network.
If you check the forums or reviews on newegg people will report the same problem.

Thanks #2. I was just about to buy it until I read your post. The whole point of this thing for me was the gigabit speed over LAN. Thanks for saving me some $$, time, and disappointment.

agree with #4, convert an old machine or buy an atom based machine and throw 2 drives, linux with software raid, 2 big fat sata drive and you can use the machine for a printer server and a firewall as well. nas at these prices is ridiculous, especially since most of these run your drives on full power, 24/7 - that will seriously degrade the life of your drives.
