Hours of entertainment for your cat. Pretty useless for anything else. Save your money and buy catnip, or just share your herbal cigarette second hand smoke.

I know a couple folks who own one of these and even the older models work rather well.

I've been using the Scooba (floor-mopping model) for years and it's great. I tried the Roomba too and it's terrible. It's just a glorified carpet-sweeper with barely any vacuum pickup.

my works well, you just need to watch it the first time to know how it moves...

#5, the point is that you're not supposed to have to know how it moves.

Don't buy into the hype. Take 5 minutes and vacuum your floor.

#7 - who's got five minutes to vacuum?
(...oh wait, instead of reading this and replying, I could have been vacuuming!)

I've owned three, and other than one battery issue (which iRobot promptly replaced) they have all been terrific. Even the oldest one is still going strong. They don't totally replace your upright vacuum, but they do keep the place tidy in between deep cleaning sessions.

Biglots has the 560 model (refurb) for $150 in store. I think that's a better deal than the 535 model.
