Anymore with today's tech on board sound cards do good for me. plus you don't have to do a bunch of crap just to get drivers i don't know if creative still does this but they use to require the CD for me to update my sound card drivers i thought was kinda nuts creative labs lost a customer doing that i haven't bought a creative card sense..

Just ordered one in a Dell build. Was temped to go w/the mobo sound to save $, but also opted for the bluray drive. Hoping the sound will match the quality of the video...

don't even bother if you have a 64-bit OS. the drivers for this thing is worse than ever. my mic was never recognized as plugged in, and the static was unbearable.

Creative Labs drivers are few and far in between. I'll stick with my mobo card. For PC, it's good enough. If you're looking for surround, spend the money and get receiver. You can get a Onkyo for about the same price.

The 109db SNR is bullsh1t, its only on paper.
Only get this card if you intend to use the features of EAX 5.0 or the provided headphones. Every other feature in the spec is nothing special.

Note: I have surround sound headphones. I have not tested the output on 5.1 pc speakers or other.

Got everything working fine with this card in win7.
If you can't figure out how to configure it properly to work with your PC that is your problem

Just returned it. My SLI didn't like it with PCI-Ex1.
